Fleurieu AgFest 2024

The second annual Fleurieu AgFest, which took place at Yankalilla, was a resounding success, showcasing the finest in agricultural careers and cutting-edge technology. Students from schools across the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island regions had the opportunity to explore a variety of stalls highlighting agtech, livestock, and more, gaining valuable insights into potential agricultural careers.

Held on Monday, March 18th, the Fleurieu AgFest 2024 built upon the achievements of its inaugural year, supported by major partners Community Bank Fleurieu - Bendigo Bank, Rural Bank, and Regional Development Australia (RDA) Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu, and Kangaroo Island. The event continued its mission to showcase innovation in agriculture, highlight diverse career pathways, and foster inspiration and connections within the industry.

Keynote speaker Matthew Evans, renowned as The Gourmet Farmer, drew a significant crowd with his engaging talk. Known for his advocacy on soil health, perfectly embodied the event's theme of "paddock to plate to gut," adding further depth to the discussions surrounding sustainable agriculture and food production.

This free event was open to all who were interested in agriculture, primary production, conservation, and land management. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest ideas and technology in agriculture, discover diverse career opportunities, and indulge in a vibrant display of local and regional produce, complemented by food vendors offering delightful culinary experiences.

Congratulations to all involved, including the dedicated members of the Parawa Ag Bureau whose contributions were instrumental in making Fleurieu AgFest 2024 a memorable celebration of agricultural excellence.
