Life Membership awards

The Life Member Award is a high honour that recognises the exceptional contribution by long serving active members of the Agricultural Bureau of SA. This is a State award, rather than a local branch. A branch may wish to award Life Membership at a local level, however, membership fees for these members are still required to be paid to ABSA to ensure continued member benefits.

Criteria:

  1. Have continuous (unbroken history) as a financial member of an Ag Bureau affiliated branch.

  2. Have been a member for more than 40 years with an attendance rate of at least 60%

  3. Have contributed significantly to their local ABSA branch and community

  4. Have contributed significantly to the primary production industry

Only two (2) Life Membership awards will be recognised each financial year, at the discretion of the Board.

Application for Life Membership forms can be downloaded here.

Branches wishing to apply on behalf of a member need to complete a Life Member Award application form, including branch endorsement at the bottom, and return to Ag Bureau Administrator by 31st August

Applications will be reviewed by the Board and Awardees appointed by Board vote

Branches who have applied for a Life Member award for a member will be contacted and notified of the outcome of their application

Agricultural Bureau of SA Life Members will be profiled in the Ag Bureau’s Annual report in the year they receive the accolade

Agricultural Bureau of SA Life Member recipients will receive a complimentary ticket and be invited to attend the ABSA Spirit of Excellence awards night in October to receive their award.
